It is with great regret that the Yilgarn Rallye event management team have to postpone the next rally till 2013. Unfortunately a series of accumulating factors this year have lead to this necessity. However planning and preparations will continue throughout 2012 to ensure that the 2013 event is a must do rally for all interested in cross country navigation events.

2012 Yilgarn Rallye is confirmed for 4th to 6th May to be held at Norseman WA. Entries will open 1st March 2012, 900km long with over 700km as Special stage. Supplementary Regulations to be released soon.

Already a top level field of riders has entered the event including 3 time Australasian Safari champion Ben Grabham, 2 time Condo 750 rally winner Rod Faggotter and several more Safari podium placers such as Damien Grabham, David Schwarz and Mat Fish. All the main contenders from the KTM, Yamaha and Husaberg Safari teams will be taking on the event.

With the news that Dakar legend Cryil Despres is heading down under for the 2011 Australasian Safari, the Yilgarn Rallye gives the top Aussie Safari teams the chance to test new equipment and hone their rallye racing skills before the big event come late September.

Held over the 24th—26th June 2011 weekend, the event is based at Southern Cross on the edge of the Goldfields of Western Australia and takes in around 900 km of station tracks, mining exploration tracks and gravel roads around Southern Cross – exactly the same type of tracks and terrain that the Safari will cover less than 3 months later.

INTRODUCTION TO SOUTHERN CROSS WA

For the 2011 Yilgarn Rallye service crew are not essential !!!

There is a mid-leg service break each day after the morning Selective, however for any rider with no service crew the organising team will be able to transport your jerrycans or other items to the service break locations so that you can do your own refuel and service.

Aside from the mid-leg service break all other refueling will be at Splash & Dash locations where the organising team transport your jerry cans for you and there is no service crew access.

Should you not have service crew and will require assistance from the organising team in this respect please advise at time of entry.
